In our pre-engineering courses, our Project Lead the Way classes are focused on teaching critical and creative thinking through problem-based learning. We work hard to promote collaborative, engaging, engineering activities that promote a lifelong love for learning. Our school serves around 1200 students from very diverse backgrounds. 68% of our students come from minority backgrounds and roughly 65% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. We work hard to promote student participation in a variety of fields and offer electives in STEM, music, fine arts, computer technologies, and foreign languages. Our PLTW classes are academic electives that focus on chemical and mechanical engineering, design and modeling, biomedical sciences, and aeronautics. We hope students are receiving instruction that encourages them to pursue and continue in science-related fields as they grow up and choose career pathways.
