I teach in a high poverty school with children from many different cultures. Often they live in apartments with several family members and not a lot of personal space. Their families are hard working and want their kids to have a good education. However, they are often working several jobs or jobs with long hours just to put food on the table. My school tries very hard to give these children a safe, caring environment in a place that is positive and inviting. The staff works many hours beyond the duty day to make sure we take care of our kids not just teach them.

About my class
