Bringing Chromebooks into our classroom would help us become better at navigating technology and the internet into more useful applications. Not only will my students have the opportunity to research sources for their writing, history, and science projects but they will also have the opportunity to present in both formal and interactive ways. Currently we share Chromebooks with 60 students, alternating them between classes. This leaves us limited time to really dig into things and often our projects are rushed due to an overbooked schedule. A class set of Chromebooks provides an opportunity for students to dig into higher level learning by sharing what they've researched and learned into applications like Story Bird, Scratch, and NotebookAI. My students would appreciate being able to work at a more manageable pace that would let them really focus on what they can do to become high proficient writers and researchers. As a teacher I appreciate being able to differentiate their work on a more personal letter. Chromebooks have been a game changer for students who need learning accommodations. I appreciate your consideration of my students.
