Aside from the benefit of literacy, books give students a uniquely personal experience both inside and outside themselves. As students quarantine, complete distance learning, and struggle to reach out in isolation, books offer enough structure for students to undergo intense and in depth thought processes that encourage empathy, emotional well-being, and general motivation to continue living and learning. More and more often, students are struggling to determine where they should turn to in order to receive the *wellness* that books offer. They search for it in everything they come across, but fewer and fewer students are turning to books in preference of social media or other internet sources. In the words of Ray Bradbury, books offer quality of content and information, leisure time to digest the content, and the ability to act on it. More than ever, these are the things that we should be promoting in future generations.
