These materials will be very beneficial to my students. As their Special Education Resource teacher, I help with their math, reading, and writing goals, as well as assist them with their assignments from their regular classes. In my class, I use flexible seating which gives my students the freedom to choose where around my room they complete their work. These materials will go towards my "Reading Nook. " This space will allow my students a place to quietly complete their assignments and read material from their other classes. The beanbags we currently have are ripped and torn, and one has had to be thrown away. I believe these bean bag chairs and pillows will be great additions to my reading nook and be used daily by my students. I also chose two bookshelves for my project because this year I was able to pick out around books for my classroom library, which is amazing, but I do not currently have a bookshelf large enough to hold the books. The no noise headphones will assist my students with Autism and ADHD with focusing and not being distracted or bothered by the noises around them. These items will make great additions to my classroom, and will make my classroom a welcoming, safe environment for my students.
