The tablets I have requested will be used in my science classroom in stations for my students to have access to Stemscopes on a daily basis. Stemscopes is a web based program that has everything the students need to succeed in the state goals for the year. There are interactive labs, quizzes, reading materials, and many more aspects of Stemscopes that could potentially help these students. Our school is subscribed to Stemscopes, and uses a lot of different software apps for the students to further their education. We do have access to chromebooks and a computer lab, however, the computer lab is small and only used for computer class. The chromebooks only come to our room once a week for 45 minutes. The kids are required to work on an app called studyisland during this time. I want to have access every day of every class period for the students to go further. There are so many unique learning apps and websites out there that would help these students study and grow exponentially.I really want to be able to set up a 5 man station for each class period where the students can explore and elaborate on the lessons learned in class. I want them to be able to access Stemscopes from the classroom every single day. A lot of these students are high risk students without much access to technology at home. Having it in the classroom would give them an advantage that they do not have anywhere else. The donations for this project will help my students get hands on experience with fun and exciting apps that will enhance their science education. It will also allow them to explore science in technology in a way that they may not be able to at home.
