Students will have access to a variety of books (both fiction and non-fiction) online, but there’s nothing quite like the smell and feel of a book. Some students with special needs have difficulty tracking their words as they read due to visual processing disorders. Putting a high-interest, physical book in their hands is a way to help differentiate their literacy practice when the majority of that practice and assessment will take place in an online capacity! I want my students to keep their books so they can pass them along to their siblings as well!
