The books on my wish list go along with a wonderful literacy unit I discovered called Rooted in Reading. This series was created by a Texas teacher and fits with our TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). This unit has specific read aloud selections for every genre. The texts allow teachers to integrate literacy skills, vocabulary, reading, writing, spelling, art activities, and much more! Our library has some of the books, but I would love to have a complete set for our classroom which would allow the students to go back at any time throughout the year and reread the ones they love!
