Students will learn the basics of coding without being overwhelmed with equipment made for older students. The Code a Pillar is bright, easy to use, and gives almost immediate results for the work being done. Students love to see the Code-a-Pillar moving around the library just like the students designed it too. It is time to expand our younger student's minds with coding equipment made specifically for their age group. I have used both the Code-a-Pillar and Colby & Go Mouse in my library before. The students were able to learn with this equipment without the frustration that older coding materials provide. This project also supplies new nonfiction resources that can teach students compassion for each other, animals, and their environment.
