I want to provide some flexible seating in my class by providing students with stand up desks and stools. These can be used by students as their attention wavers and allows for them to move around. Additionally, it would be used for standup conferencing and collaboration among peers. Research shows that students who are provided with flexible seating arrangements learn more and stay focused more than when in a classroom with only traditional desks or tables and chairs. I need help making my classroom the place kids come to and creatively write and learn, but do not feel stifled or trapped by the traditional educational setting.
