We live in a world where successfully operating technology has become an essential skill. As a result, teachers need to adjust and modify how we teach in order to meet that need. Education is constantly changing and it's the teacher's job to make sure we are practicing up-to-date and current practices. More than half of my student have no internet connection at home and I find it hard to find time to go to the computer lab during class time with my 3 classes. For this reason, my goal is to slowly build my technology library so I can become self-sufficient, as far as technology goes. Students are intrigued and instantly become interested when technology is directly involved. As a science teacher, technology allows me to teach beyond the limits of my classroom using real-world visuals, virtual labs, and simulations. Students are able to conceptualize better when they get to see visually what is being taught. For example, I cannot bring my students into space to show them the rotation and revolution of the Earth, however, with these iPads, this is not physically possible but digitally possible. My students are already at a disadvantage in life because they are not as exposed to technology in terms of education. Games and being digitally literate educationally are on two different ends of the spectrum. With your donation, you will not be only helping my student succeed in the 5th grade but also in life. Thank you so much for your time and help.
