Students have lots on their minds and struggle to sit still all day. Flexible seating allows students to move, wiggle, wobble, lean, rock, and more. The movement increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow, and core strength. It helps young minds stay alert and focused. Students learn best when they have some control over their environment. Having a choice of seating gives students motivation and opportunities to easily pair up and work in small groups to collaborate. They gain a sense of community as they learn to take turns and share supplies. Flexible seating will also encourage students to relax and enjoy reading in a comfortable setting.
