Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, but families seem to be more transient than ever. Caregivers are often working at all hours of the day and many students attend aftercare until it closes. The children are eager to learn and enjoy listening to and creating their own stories. Our public school is on a tight budget, as are most schools today. Our teachers are very dedicated and we do our best to educate our students within these budgetary constraints. Creating the right environment, however small it may be, can make the difference for our impressionable children. Will they go home and continue reading and creating because of their classroom inspiration or will they turn instead to that video game for fun?
