Our class is an inclusive class which supports and includes children with disabilities alongside their peers. Our students with disabilities have had access to flexible seating options for several years but I’ve realized recently that if it is truly inclusion, ALL children need to have the options for flexible seating. It should not be seen as special seating. Therefore I am requesting additional wobble chairs and soft seats so all students have access to flexible seating. The presence of children with special needs in our classroom increases the importance of our mission to ensure the success of ALL students through targeted interventions like seating and sensory modifications. It also increases the likelihood of a more inclusive future. In kindergarten, we all belong.
