Each year students seem to have a more difficult time sitting in traditional chairs. Students stand, fold their legs under and push on their chair with their feet, tip back, kick on the desk in front of them, sit on the floor by their desk, and the list continues. I'm looking to transform our classroom into a more functional and comfortable space for them and their learning. Each student's seat should match his/her needs and comfort, creating a more relaxed environment and a higher level of engagement. The wobble chairs will provide a way for them to have more movement in their seat without tipping over backward and creating a safety concern. They are also constantly trying to find a spot on the floor with a pillow or up against a wall. The cushions and bean bags will provide a new form of support that allows them to get comfy on a lower level in the room.
