We have a variety of spaces in the classroom, allowing us to spread out to work independently, in pairs, or small groups. However, many of my third graders are quite wiggly and tend to move around more than is conducive. I find that this kind of flexible seating increases their focus and keeps them in one spot for a longer period of time. I have noted greater attention from those students using the two wobbly cushions I purchased last year. This increase in stamina is important because third grade is more cognitively demanding than second grade. We have a lot to discover together!
