As my students work diligently on their assignments, I want to provide comfort and variety in their work space. As an English Language Arts (ELA) teacher, my students spend large portions of their class time reading and working on writing assignments, and keeping students attached to similar type of desk for 6-7 hours a day can hinder both their motivation and creativity. By providing flexible seating, I intend to give my students an inviting classroom space to encourage and induce productivity. This change in seating will also allow my students to find comfort in the ELA classroom, despite the fact that reading and writing can be daunting to a number of teens.
