Students spend a lot of time engaged with literature in my class and I would like to give them any and all opportunities to be comfortable in their learning. Students are challenged daily to critically think and push themselves beyond their boundaries but they should be able to do that by feeling safe and relaxed. Many of my students retreat to sitting on the floor or propped up against storage cabinets during reading and they deserve more. Flexible seating will help them remain engaged and allow them to truly be themselves during the learning process; however, that might look for each of them as individuals.
