Middle school is notoriously the time for back stabbing, epic drama, and cliques. In this class, the students work together and celebrate their differences. You'll never find a more caring, supportive group of pre-teens and teens! My students are all identified as having significant disabilities, and the main focus of our class is learning the skills to be self-sufficient. In our world, there is nothing more important than being able to independently engage with text! They love our weekly trips to the city library, where students select their own books to read, but have no place to display and find these treasures.

About my class
