My students are NYC children that come from low income homes. I teach 4th grade in a small community in NYC. The parents work long hours and are often not able to assist their children as much as they would like with their school wok. Many of the children are responsible to complete their homework on their own and any other projects. My students are energetic, bright and eager to learn everyday! My students love using the computer not just to goggle and play games but to use it as an educational tool! They love being able to go and have a story read to them, to play math games and spelling games. Technology is a big part of our society and many of my students are able to keep up with the ever changing society. My students are resilient and do not give up on themselves or their friends and family. Even for fourth graders they know that education is important to be successful. They have big dreams and goals set for themselves.
