Jazz music is considered by many to be the one and only true American art form because it took influences from all over the world and blended it all together at it's inception in America. Now, jazz ensembles are considered a vital part of a well rounded music education. With the lack of adequate and properly maintained equipment, students become discouraged in playing and some lose interest in participating in band altogether. The students will use this drum set with our first ever jazz ensemble and other ensembles such as pep band in order to further their instrumental music education throughout middle school and high school. Jazz is an extremely important music in American culture because not only is it a reflection of our country's wonderful diversity but it also celebrates it through musical unity. These kids are ready to start learning and playing jazz but now we need your help to get us started!
