My students are amazing! We're located in an under-served neighborhood where the per capita household income is less than $15K and only 8% of residents have a Bachelors degree. We face daily challenges in a community that has an over 40% high school drop out rate. Despite these challenges, our school is 92% on-track to graduate! My Special Education Science classroom supports the social and emotional needs of my diverse learners and promote a growth-mindset in my students through Project and Game-based learning. We make the most of what we have and try to ask for what we need, while always supporting the community and providing a hub for local learning.
