We currently have a few computers in our classroom. To have tablets for my class would add to the resources available for them to use. I want to be able to do more small group work and having tablets could give us the option to work with interactive websites that are available. Technology is becoming more of a necessity in the classroom. I would like to be able to bring in more technology in the class and make it more accessible to them. My students love the one time a week we go to computer class but would enjoy having more time. We use a majority of our technology during reading and center time where the students are actively engaged and working on individual work. The use of the tablets will allow my students the opportunity to extend the learning on a individual level. They are very motivated and love to do hands-on activities. For this reason, I am looking for more ways to have them interact with technology and do more hands-on engaging learning. The best way to make learning fun is to make it interactive and engaging for them. Some students are visual learners and being able to use the tablet to enhance their skills will be a plus for a successful school year. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in computers and this project will definitely help enrich their experiences with technology.
