My students will be taking PARCC tests and other high stake tests at the end of this year. On PARCC the only calculator available to them (digitally) will be a TI-84. As of now, students enter the test having never having seen these calculators before, let alone know how to use them correctly. I want to rectify this by getting a class set and having my students practice using them in class over the course of the year. This will allow them to be prepared for higher stake testing and college in the near future. Without these they will be severely disadvantaged when they come across these tests or are expected to use these tools without having seen them before.
