Our school participates in the Louisiana Young Readers' Choice program in the state. This program has a list of twelve books and if the student reads at least three books on this list, they are allowed to vote on their favorite. This year, our books our LYRC books are extremely popular and the shelves are already empty. We only have five copies of each book and a hold list a mile long for students wanting to read and participate. I want to be able to accommodate as many students as possible but unfortunately, our budget is stretched very thin and we don't have the money to buy more of these books.
