My students attend a public charter school in Southern California; their neighborhood is a severely socioeconomically disadvantaged one and many of them will be the first in their families to graduate high school. Most are first or second generation US citizens. Students attend our school to get a high level of education that respects their pasts and their values. This will be our first year as a 9-12 school and we are looking forward to graduating over 90% of our students, while their local district options are only graduating 60%. Our schools motto is: "We are a local school with a global vision, empowering students through love" Our students believe in the power of love and understanding as a motivator. Our students smile and are proud to come to school every day, because they know it is a safe and caring place to learn.
