Covid safety regulations have really affected the use of manipulatives and games in the classroom and have increased the usage of Ipads. Technology is a great way to give students access to a variety of learning games and manipulatives, but sometimes going old school can reach students who may thrive better with hands-on learning! I would like to provide my students with access to more math manipulatives to aid in understanding and to use as a multisensory approach to small groups. I would also like to provide my fast finishers with file folder games to enhance learning and avoid the burnout of iPad usage and reading library books. Learning games will also allow my students to interact and cooperate in ways that had been put on hold the last two years. Another downside to the pandemic is the gaps in student learning/mastery, file folder games will also be useful in small groups and interventions! Since our building's population has grown and there is little room for extra chairs due to spacing, I no longer have chairs for my small group area, we would like something easy to put away and clean! I would also be great to give my students access to Social Emotional Learning books and calming tools to help students understand, regulatete, and self-monitor their emotions.
