Helping us with these resources will complete our science lab and allow us to bring science to a whole new level for our students. Hands-on science allows the students to grasp deeper learning of their TEKS. We support our teachers by setting up their labs but have noticed that we are still needing resources. The request for a specific items like the hot plates is to ensure that our teachers are able to conduct a lab on changing physical properties. In order for kids to see the process of a solid changing into a liquid and then changing into a gas, a hot plate is needed. Hands-on laboratory science experiences are critical to the learning process across all areas of study, beginning with kindergarten and continuing through fifth grade. Many of our students do not get the opportunity to venture out into the real world and experience hands-on science. They are eager to learn every day they come to school.
