My students' eyes light up when I introduce new books to them. Books are the center of our classroom! They need diverse books that will not only teach them empathy for others, but also engage them. The selected books offer students a look into cultures and places that are unfamiliar to them. Some of the selected books offer my students a "mirror," which allows them to see themselves in their literature. This selection of books will allow for meaningful discussions about our world and the beauty of diversity! These books will also allow our class to share reading more frequently and create meaningful reading memories together, through rich discussion!
