One of the major goals in our classroom is Kindergarten Readiness. There are certain skills each student needs to have before they enter the doors of elementary school. We strive to teach these skills not only through play, but also during circle time. The materials we selected will aid in creating a circle time that is efficient in meeting the needs of the students while preparing them for Kindergarten. By using the Calendar Math Activity Program, the students will be exposed to counting, estimation, problem solving, addition, and the typical calendar skills first thing in the morning. We want to make every moment in our classroom full of learning especially circle time and with these new materials I believe we can reach that goal.
