My students are the ultimate kids. They do everything with a heightened sense of the world. In an effort to support their keen awareness of their environment, I want to provide them with an educational experience that is in keeping with universal design for learning. The educational framework of UDL strives for the development of flexible learning environments, which accommodates individual learning differences. Therefore, having adaptive furniture that adjusts for maximum comfort and promotes body awareness is something my students could benefit from. Adaptive furniture, is also known to help organize the brain for focus and attention and it gives much needed support for children who need breaks from traditional seating. I believe strongly that my students learning experiences could be enhanced and transformed by the additional seating options the adaptive bean bag furniture could provide.
