This year is going to be an exciting one for my students. Whitman is officially an AVID Elementary School. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to encourage young minds to think of higher education. AVID aims to prepare students not only for success in school but also in life. This year our school is focusing on Organization. I want to equip my students for success! The skills they learn this year they will carry with them throughout their educational career. My students come from low-income families who may not have the means to provide their children with all the necessary materials for the school year. I want to make sure my students have what they need so they can focus on learning and loving school.
