Reading is everything in kindergarten...it's new, it's exciting, but it can also be intimidating. I am hoping to create an inviting, exciting, easy to navigate class library that appeals to all of my students, despite their reading level. I would like colorful book boxes that match the theme/feel of our classroom while simultaneously making it easy for me to sort and label books so that all of my students will be able to identify and choose a book that suits their interests and their reading level. I am fortunate to have some wonderful books in my class library, however, I have noticed that my students are not able to easily identify books that are appropriate for their reading level on their own. Finding the right book is the first step, but I would also like to add some comfort aspects to our library by adding a colorful rug and some cozy seating. I want my students to experience what it means to "curl up with a good book". Finding a book to love is the first step in developing a love of reading. I want my students to fall in love with reading in our class library.
