Can you imagine practicing your spelling words by scanning a QR code or recording your reading and/or discoveries throughout the day to share with parents? All this and more is possible with tablets. My students are 21st-century learners but have limited access to 21st-century tools. My goal as their teacher is to provide them with the tools to be successful for life. Tablets could change this. This device has many features that we could use such as the camera to document learning or reading Apps to reinforce or practice skills. But, perhaps the most invaluable learning will be the sharing of knowledge between students as they talk and work together while using these tablets. Tablets could change the way my students learn and how I teach. It will help us integrate technology into our daily lives. Can you imagine a day without your technology? Probably not. Your support to fund our second grade learners could change that and their outlook on learning forever.
