All students K-5 at my elementary school have German class once a week for 50 minutes. There are about 650 students. We have a constantly changing student population with students transferring in and out as their families move or are relocated out the district. Over one-third of our students are on free and reduced lunches. The student body is diverse and includes many English Language Leaners currently representing 14 different countries. Our district supports many programs, like Elementary German, to help these students excel and close the achievement gap. Our students are eager to learn and enjoy being challenged with relevant and rigorous lessons. Eggspert did not fit into my classroom budget this year, however, it would enhance student ability to interact in the classroom, reinforce learning German and help build team-work.
