Never before have young adult books been so rich in diverse, antiracist, and inclusive content. As an English teacher, I live for getting the right book into the right students' hands at just the right time. Unfortunately, without your support, my students will likely never have access to these titles. I hope to create a classroom library for my students that reflect their lived experiences and reveals to them the lived experiences of others. With these resources, students will engage in student-selected reading for at least 60 minutes a week. They will connect these stories to their own lives and explore the insights they've gained about other cultures, genders, and religions. I'm hoping that with a classroom library that is rich with high-interest, relevant titles, my students will find a love of reading that will continue long after they have left me.
