Mrs. Ford's Scholar Room: My speech/language scholars are energetic, artistic, tech savvy, motivated, curious, spontaneous, creative 5th and 6th grade learners who come to speech lab weekly or speech comes to them daily for 5 minute quick artic drills on the IPAD. Our classroom (the students' and mine) is welcoming, cool, roomy, comfy, loving and supportive. It's where all my students' good days can begin and continue! Successful communication is what we strive for, and we practice it in our spoken and written language, so that we can learn strategies in speech and habituate the use of those strategies in the classroom and "real" life. Communication tools are powerful and if used wisely can change the world for the better. I hope to empower my speech scholars to discover their strengths, so they can make this world a better place; one positive sound, word, sentence, paragraph, essay, experience at a time.
