In our class we read in partners. One partner is reading at their level and the other is reading at a level that is a few grades below. As students come across words they aren't familiar with, they discuss them, try to understand the words using context clues, then look the words up. The dictionaries we are currently using only seem to have about 10% of the words the students are looking up. We need dictionaries that are more advanced and have a higher word count. I have one dictionary like this in my class but I think it would be beneficial for my students if they each had their own class copy to use.
