My classroom is full of children from all walks of life. I have children who have a mom and a dad who tuck them in nightly. I have kiddos from a one-parent home in which no one has time to read to them or make sure they're ready for school in the morning. I have children who are above grade level. I also have children who face many challenges, such as ADHD, Turrets, and OCD. Each of my childrens capable of learning and having great success in a classroom that champions the individual and the group.
