Technology is transforming the way I teach and my students learn, thus creating an engaging educational experience. My students exhibit high motivation when traditional learning is connected to technology. Unfortunately, my school is a lower income school where extra money for creative projects is difficult to find. As a 21st Century School Library Media Specialist, I am always on the lookout for ways to spark and enhance existing passions within students, especially reading. 21st learners are nicknamed the iGeneration because of how intrigued they are with mobile devices. Research has shown that this evolution to mobile learning is irreversible and is becoming a greater importance in education. However, these handheld, mobile devices are limited at the elementary level. Gaining access and utilizing mobile devices will allow me to fuel students' love of reading and create another way for them engage and learn.
