At our school we are teaching our students through our example. As teachers we demonstrate how to care for your own spaces. We need gardening tools for our teachers to lead students in cultivating the land we enjoy. We would like to add a nourishing garden to our outdoor play area. We would love to start with a beautiful heirloom herb garden, including Heirloom Basil, Chives, Cilantro, Dill, Lavender, Oregano, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme. We would also like to add a heirloom vegetable garden, with Beet, Carrot, Cucumber, Basil, Kale, Lettuce, Melon, Onion, Pea, Pepper, Squash and Tomato. And to beautify our entire space we will plant bulbs this fall. We are asking for donations so that we can get hoses, rakes, sheers, shovels, and a hoe. And most of all heirloom seeds! The garden will benefit us for work, and it will allow us to harvest food right to our table. At our school we focus on the importance of watching your food grow. Each week the children prepare a stew of vegetables, and we would love to use vegetables grown in our very own garden.
