The iPad will allow students a mode to engage in modeled writing instruction and be used to take individual student's story dictations virtually in small groups on the Microsoft Teams platform. Students will then come together and dramatize their stories with their peers. Research has shown the power of stories help children cope socially and emotionally through traumatic events. Rich, thought-provoking and diverse children's literature will promote strong oral language development, emotional support and a springboard for creative writing. The books and technology will allow for support during this unprecedented time to help create a bit of normalcy for my students.

About my class
