The VEER Virtual Reality headsets will be paired with existing mobile devices to connect all AVID students to college campus virtual tours. The students will be able to "walk" around the campus landmarks, enter actual college dorms, athletic fields and student buildings. The students will be able to feel what it is like to be standing in a classroom at Columbia University, or to walk across Harvard Yard, past the John Harvard Statue on their way to the freshman dorms. Virtual reality is engaging and versatile for use in the classroom. AVID students be will use this technology to tour other locations across a variety of content areas, such as the Pyramids in Ancient Civilization, or the Amazonian Rainforest in Science class. The educational opportunities are virtually limitless!
