I am a first-year teacher and building a classroom where my students have the supplies necessary for a successful education is my main goal. I do not want my students to suffer because of my limited amount of supplies at the moment. I will always try my best for them with what we have, but I would love to give them something special. The supplies asked for would make such a difference in our classroom. Because my students are at various reading levels, a leveled library would be so helpful for my students! Having books at their level where they can learn reading strategies and skills to help them grow would be so beneficial to help them become stronger readers. K'Motion chairs would help incorporate flexible seating into my classroom, as well as help some of my wiggle worms! I want my students to feel comfortable in our classroom and to learn in a space most suited for them. An easel is also something I cannot wait to have in our classroom. I would love to use it not only for small group instruction, but for whole group instruction as well. I can use the whiteboard aspect of it, but can also use it to make anchor charts as a class to then display on our classroom walls. Last, but not least, the fraction tiles are a perfect way for my students to visualize fractions and use a manipulative while learning the concept of fractions. This can be a challenging concept in 4th grade, but with the addition of these fraction tiles into our math lessons, I believe my students will have a better sense of the meaning of fractions. Your donation to our classroom would be greatly appreciated!
