During the last year, I have been teaching basic drag and drop coding as well as introducing, HTML, Ruby, Python and CSS coding languages with the goal of designing simple browser-based games. This type of class will always attract students, but I want to extend its reach. Funding for the class would further this curriculum by providing tangible applications for programming complex robots. Students would practice coding, designing flight paths for drones, maneuver obstacle courses for robots on wheels, calculating distance and angles, and experimenting with real-time physics. The drones and robots would be highly visible and create excitement in the student body for coding and programming. I hope to increase enrollment in Computer Tech and an interest in coding school wide.
