Exploring Music. How can you explore music in a general music class without instruments to experience it with? For many of my middle school students, this is their first opportunity to learn to read music. We’ve started the school year strong listening to lots of music and learning about music theory, but we need a class set of instruments to help the students create music of their own. Ukuleles will allow students to apply the skills they’ve been learning in class. Students can sing along as they learn to play, this can help us to recruit students for our school’s band and chorus program as well. We want to inspire our students to continue in music for the rest of their lives!
