I teach an inquisitive group of third graders in an inner-city public school in Arizona. With over 90% of our students on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program one might think that our students are poor, but they would be far from the truth in doing so! What our children lack in money, they make up for in their curiosity and desire to learn! My room is the home for the gifted students at my grade level, and they have an insatiable appetite for information. They adore nonfiction and have literally begged me to buy more biographies for them to devour! What teacher would not do anything she could to grant them this request? I have scoured the used book stores and purchased quite a few, but these curious bookworms ate right through them in no time at all. So we are coming to you and asking you to consider making these future leaders book dreams come true!
