Students with special needs learn with a hands-on approach. These materials will allow my students to use their 5 senses to work on letter and letter-sound naming, phonemic awareness and eventually help put letters together to form words and read. Our math lessons require visual pictures to connect a concrete example of what numbers represent. Students with special needs also succeed when things are organized and structured. Organization materials allow me to prepare my students for what they are going to learn so they know what to expect and reduce stress levels. This project is just the beginning of bridging the gap.
