My young students in pre-K discover new things everyday through play. My classroom and students need new and updated musical instruments and art supplies. The instruments include rhythm set, maracas, and Chilean rainsticks which will give them a variety to choose from and add diversity in my musical instruments for the students to explore and learn. I will now be able to rotate out music instruments through out the year and replace old ones. The jukebox is an amazing item giving students freedom to choose diverse songs and enhance creativity in their dance. During whole group dance and rest time I will use the portable Bluetooth speaker to play music, cultural songs, rhyming music, and literacy experiences through music and audio. Art is extremely important for my classroom because it helps young children to express their emotions and feelings in a safe, positive way. In the art center I will use the ink pads with stamps, foam shapes, pom-poms, craft tape, tempera block paint, wiggle eyes. Art helps fine motor skills, strengthens vocabulary, experiencing success, creating a project, and solving problems. Materials that I am in need of to help my students reach these goals are the scissor center, jumbo craft sticks, sticker eyes, paint brushes, aprons, and tissue paper. Art involves mathematics, language, economics, science, and social skills. I will use the collage animals, pipe stems, feathers, glitter, crinkle strips and view from around the world set to plan small group projects to enhance learning by integrating art into other subjects.
