My students always come to school eager to learn! As adults we can relate with students because traditional chairs can be difficult to sit on for a long period of time. Students need comfortable seating options to fully engage on what they love doing, learning. Studies have shown that “student choice within the space” has improved the students’ learning. With flexible seating options, students are able to be physically active and comfortable. Not only are the students physically active and comfortable but they foster a sense of responsibilty by making a choice as to where they seat. Some of the seating options to foster their sense of responsibility that will be provided with this project are bean bags, balance balls, and wobbling stools. These seating options will help my students stay fully engaged while learning at the comfort of their seating choice. I cannot wait to enhance my students’ learning through flexible seating!
